Ralph Waldo Emerson
The more I dream of the future, the more I realize my end goals are to be apart from society, from the busyness of everyday life we get trapped in. I have come to terms with the fact that in order to survive and prosper I must participate in this competitive capitalist economy we call ‘opportunity’, but I wish to do it in my own way. I will start my business but I will run it in a wholly new way: a fair way, and an honest way. Focus on the people, not the money; create social good and new opportunities for others. Then, when I have found my success and can look back on what I have done with pride, I will retreat to nature in the cabin I will build, spending my days worrying about green beans and radishes. I yearn for peace, and for quiet, and for having no obligations to anyone but to myself and my family. To be with the one I love. One day. The secret is patience.
